Alternative pop superstar Billie Eilish has performed at the 2019 American Music Awards, delivering a fiery rendition of ‘all the good girls go to hell’ from this year’s breakout debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go.
The performance was not only Eilish’s first AMA performance but her first award show performance ever.
Tyler, the Creator introduced Eilish to the stage, joking about the singer knocking the rapper’s IGOR off the No. 1 spot.
“Early this year my album IGOR was the No. 1 album in the country,” Tyler begins. “And then this 17-year old girl who dressed like a quarterback decided to change that. Everybody, please give it up for Billie Eilish.”
Backed by her collaborator, brother Finneas, Eilish performed in front of a wall of flames, delivering a truly potent performance.
In addition to performing, Eilish won the New Artist of the Year and Favourite Artist – Alternative Rock awards at the ceremony.
Last week, Eilish scored six Grammy nominations, in major categories such as Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist.
