Courtney Barnett is the latest artist to grace the stage for MTV Unplugged Melbourne, and MTV have released a clip of the superstar teaming up with legend Paul Kelly to cover an Archie Roach classic, ‘Charcoal Lane’.
The two have performed the song previously, doing a version of it for the 25th anniversary version of the album of the same name. Going back even further, Kelly also helped produce the album back in 1990 – Archie Roach’s debut, no less.
Barnett’s MTV Unplugged Melbourne set, which will air in full this weekend, also features appearances from other artists like Evelyn Ida Morris and Marlon Williams. She also performed original tracks like ‘Depreston’, ‘Avant Gardener’ and ‘Nameless, Faceless.’
Barnett will be touring the country with Paul Kelly at the end of this year as part of his Christmas concert series ‘Making Gravy’. Check out all that info here.
