Watch Damon Albarn & Noel Gallagher Perform Together At Paul Simonon’s Birthday Party

Former foes, Blur’s Damon Albarn and Oasis’s Noel Gallagher, seem to have put their Brit Pop rivalry behind them for good, with video emerging today of the two UK rockers performing together, forming for what must be for some, the ultimate supergroup.

As Stereogum reports, Albarn and Gallagher were both in attendance at Clash bassist Paul Simonon’s 60th birthday and in the spirit of friendship, or perhaps due to the friendship of spirits, took the stage along with The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde to together smash out a setlist of material by Gorillaz, The Good, The Bad & The Queen (of which Simonon is a member) and The Clash.

As Pitchfork points out though, this isn’t the first time Albarn and Gallagher have performed together, the pair having played a benefit concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall together in 2013 with Graham Coxon and Paul Weller.

There’s also been talk of the two possibly collaborating for some time now, something Gallagher may have alluded to when he told Music Feeds that he and Albarn were recently “talking about some such nonsense, which you will probably find out about sooner or later.”

Watch them take on Gorillaz’ DARE and the Clash’s Brand New Cadillac, and see the rest of the setlist below.
