Aussie rockers DZ Deathrays have lit up the triple j studios with an epic, riff-filled cover of a 1989 party-starter from The B-52’s, ‘Love Shack’.
Teaming up with members of The Gooch Palms, Party Dozen and Exhibitionist for the cover, DZ’s Shane Parsons and Simon Ridley tore the pop-rock classic apart with some huge guitar riffs and plenty of that trademark DZ energy.
Thankfully, the cover still retained the original song’s quirky lyrics and surf-rock vibes, thanks to some very B-52’s-esque vocals.
While in the triple j studios, DZ Deathrays also performed their original track ‘Like People’, from their latest album Bloody Lovely. Watch both performances, below.
DZ Deathrays are currently in the midst of a huge national tour in celebration of their 10th anniversary. The band will perform in Adelaide tonight, before moving onto Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
