Watch Faith No More Debut Two New ‘Sol Invictus’ Tracks

In the lead-up to the release of their highly anticipated new album, Sol Invictus, Faith No More are playing more and more of the album for their loyal fans. The group recently debuted the album’s title track, as well as fellow album cut From The Dead to some lucky fans in Vancouver, Washington, and footage of the performances have now made their way online.

The fan-filmed clips of Sol Invictus and From The Dead (below) were captured at the first show of the band’s North American tour. From The Dead has a slight acoustic vibe to it, while Sol Invcitus takes on a darker, more sinister tone thanks to Mike Patton’s vocal work.

Previously, Faith No More had already shared a handful of tracks from their upcoming album: Superhero, Cone Of Shame and Motherfucker.

In an interview with Music Feeds earlier this year, Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum said the album highlights the band’s maturity.

“It sounds a little bit corny, but I think as people mature into their craft, it seems like oftentimes the most effect is achieved by stripping things down rather than throwing things on, and we had such a career of throwing things into the mix,” Bottum said.

“We did that really well, but I feel a lot of it was just this crazy inundation of lots and lots and lots and lots and lots. And it feels like now, stripping things down.”

Sol Invictus the album, the follow-up to 1997’s Album Of The Year, will be released in Australia on 15th May. Watch Faith No More debut the album’s title track and From The Dead, below.
