Foo Fighters appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week to perform their newest single, ‘Waiting On A War’, taken from the band’s stellar new record Medicine at Midnight.
After shooting the shit with Fallon for a little while, the band took to the stage, backed by a string of purple stage lights. Their performance is a pretty straightforward run through of the track, with the full band supported by a trio of backing vocalists to deliver that extra bit of punch. The track’s wildly intense outro features a solid tempo bump and really leaves you with an intense desire to go and see this song played live.
Earlier in the show, frontman Dave Grohl joined Fallon via Zoom to chat about the record’s release, and it’s delay due to the pandemic. They talked about Grohl recording with David Bowie, and the pair also shared an anecdote about the time they both attended a picnic at Obama’s White House and Fallon was painfully overdressed.
