Watch Jack White & Robert Plant’s Led Zeppelin Jam At Lollapalooza

Rock music’s wily-haired past collided with its slicked-back present on the Lollapalooza stage in Argentina on Saturday night, after Jack White‘s headlining set was crashed by legendary Led Zeppelin frontman, Robert Plant.

The rock and roll veteran lent his banshee vocals to a rendition of Zeppelin’s classic The Lemon Song in a surprise cameo, which someone has kindly captured on camera and uploaded to the interwebs for the benefit of us non-Argentinians.

“I love Jack White’s buccaneer spirit, and the way he dodges through the musical horizons. I’d be happy to make a single with him,” Plant said in an interview last September. And while a single has yet to materialise, this live collaboration is certainly a step in the right direction.

Plant was also a performer at Lolla Argentina 2015, which also included spots by Pharrell Williams, Calvin Harris, and Skrillex.

While White has covered The Lemon Song — from 1969’s Led Zeppelin II — at a number of recent live shows, including his headlining slot at Bonnaroo, this new collaboration with the man who made the song iconic will set the bar high for future performances.
