Tomahawk have returned with their first studio release in around six years. The release will be titled Oddfellows.
According to Consequence of Sound, the album will come out January next year and will mark number #4 for the rockers. The band is essentially a rock super group, comprised of Mike Patton, ex Faith No More, ex-Mr. Bungle; The Jesus Lizard’s guitarist Daune Denison; Melvins’ bassist Trevor Dunn; and Battles’ drummer John Stanier. The band announced the album last November through their Facebook.
Today we have the first hint of what to expect from the release. While Patton doesn’t appear on the teaser, we can still witness the chemistry between both Dunn on bass and Stanier on drums as well as Denison’s well-known duelling guitar riffs.
Whilst the clip states that the album is slated for release this spring, it is widely believed that we won’t see it until 2013. The band will be playing the famous Voodoo Experience in New Orleans with more tour dates expected to be announced closer to the release date.
