Watch Run The Jewels & TV On The Radio Team Up On ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’

“Tonight’s musical guest is so hip, their backup band is TV On The Radio.” That’s how The Late Show‘s new host, Stephen Colbert, introduced influential rap duo Run The Jewels before they collaborated with their buddies TVOTR for a rousing performance on last night’s Late Show.

Run The Jewels’ Killer Mike and El-P took to Colbert’s slick new studio to spit a rendition of Angel Duster from their 2014 album Run The Jewels 2, all backed by the multi-instrumental talents of the TV On The Radio squad. Catch the full kick-ass performance, below.

Colbert recently kicked off his new job hosting The Late Show by starring in a star-studded musical jam session featuring the likes of Mavis Staples, Aloe Blacc, Ben Folds, Brittany Howard, Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi and members of Beirut.

No strangers to collaborations themselves, Run The Jewels have previously teamed up with the likes of Jack White and Rage Against The Machine’s Zach de la Rocha, and even Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.

Meanwhile, TV On The Radio singer Tunde Adebimpe has also formed an unlikely supergroup with Faith No More frontman Mike Patton, called Nevermen.
