WATCH: Snoop Dogg And Eddie Murphy Duet On ‘Redlight’

We’ve mostly managed to forget about Eddie Murphy‘s brief stint as a musician in the ’80s and ’90s but here to remind us is Snoop Dogg, aka Snoop Lion, releasing a reggae track called Redlight with the Beverley Hills Cop and Shrek actor.

The track is credited to ‘Eddie Murphy Feat. Snoop Lion aka Snoop Dogg’, so it seems Snoop isn’t quite sure who he wants to be, although Redlight definitely has the rasta flavours of his Lion persona going strong. The video was uploaded to YouTube yesterday and features footage of the pair in the recording studio.

Murphy may be best known for his comedy and film work but he also had a smash hit in 1985 with the Rick James-produced single Party All The Time and a 1993 duet with Michael Jackson, Whatzupwitu, as well as releasing a self-titled album all the way back in 1982, featuring the inexplicably named Boogie In Your Butt. Yes, really.
