Footage has emerged of System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian delivering a powerful rendition of ‘The Rains Of Castamere’ from beloved HBO series Game Of Thrones, and it’s epic.
Tankian made a surprise appearance at the ‘Game Of Thrones Live Experience’ in Los Angeles earlier this week, alongside composer and master of ceremonies Ramin Djawadi.
Indie-rockers The National recorded the original version of ‘The Rains Of Castamere’ before Sigur Rós also contributed a version to the show, but with his huge baritone behind the track, Tankian nails his performance. Watch it in full, below.
As for System Of A Down, late last year they confirmed that a new album is on the way, but we haven’t heard much from them since.
