An Immersive Game Of Thrones ‘Live Concert Experience’ Tour Is Happening

Dun-dun, dun-dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun-dun!

Get ready to go batshit crazy like the Mad King Aerys Game Of Thrones fans, because your favourite TV series about dragons, incest and mass genocide has just announced plans to hit the road on tour.

The new Game Of Thrones Live Concert Experience is promising to transport you to Westeros IRL, using state-of-the-art technology, a full orchestra and choir to create the most immersive audio-visual GOT experience this side of The Wall.

Acclaimed composer Ramin Djawadi will be on deck to bring the Seven Kingdoms to life with his breathtaking score, taking you on a musical journey through the realm while blasting the pop cultural phenom that is the show’s iconic theme tune for you to (sort-of) sing along to.

According to a press release, “The tour, produced and promoted exclusively by Live Nation inpartnership with HBO Global Licensing, will use innovative music tour production and video technology that will recreate the various realms found throughout Westeros and Essos as well as showcase footage from the show in addition to all new imagery created exclusively for the tour”.

While Game of Thrones creators/executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss added: “The GoT Concert Experience will be unique in the history of concert tours, an eye-popping, ear-splitting, phantasmagoric blend of the show’s visuals and Ramin’s powerful compositions. We are more excited for it than anyone.”

The downside is that (at least for now) it’ll only available for fans in the US (or those willing to travel there).

But, ya know, if it’s successful (and we’d bet all the gold in Casterly Rock that it will be), then chances are we’ll be seeing it on Aussie shores before we know it.
