Watch The Naked And Famous Play The Last New ‘Like A Version’ Sesh For A While

It’s been a hectic week full of bad news for music fans and the industry alike. The news that this week’s Like a Version will be the last for a little while is heart breaking. BUT, on the bright side, The Naked and Famous certainly delivered.

They took on a classic from last year, ‘Blinding Lights’ by The Weeknd. The Naked and Famous don’t stray terribly far from the original, but the use of “traditional” instruments gives it a totally different vibe. Also, Alisa Xayalith’s vocals are stunning (as always).

We were also blessed with a The Naked and Famous original, ‘Bury Us’, they keep up all the energy of the studio version — it’s lovely.

The Aukland band scored two songs in the Hottest 200 of the Decade. ‘Punching In A Dream’ came in at #184 and ‘Young Blood’ just snuck in at #200.

The Naked and Famous were set to play a few shows with Wine Machine over the next couple of weeks. However, the remainder of the festival has been postponed to October.

You can catch both their original and their cover down below.

This week’s Like a Version will be the last for a little while. Due to the ABC’s new guidelines to combat the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the segment will be taking a little break. They’ll be sharing all our fave throwback Like A Versions each week though.
