It’s been a minute since we first caught the news that Friends: The Reunion was on its way. But now, we finally have more deets and a saucy lil teaser.
The reunion episode, titled The One Where They Get Back Together is due to air later this (!!) month. HBO Max has said they’ll be streaming the episode on Thursday, 27th May.
There’s no mention just yet of which streaming platform will be picking up the special in Australia.
The original cast will all be in play: Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry.
Especially noteworthy is the list of guest appearances in the episode.
Show faves like Maggie Wheeler (Janice), James Michael Tyler (Gunther), Tom Selleck (Richard), Christina Pickles (Judy Geller), and Reese Witherspoon (Rachel’s little sister) will all appear.
Joining them though are the likes of David Beckham, Justin Bieber, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, and Malala Yousafzai.
Apparently, the reunion episode will be mostly unscripted.
“There’s nothing scripted, we’re not in character,” said Schwimmer appearing on The Graham Norton Show. “Yeah, so we’re all ourselves…”
“Although, there is one section of it where — I don’t want to give it away — we all read something, so.”
The teaser video itself doesn’t tell us loads. It’s mostly just a video of the six actors walking through the Warner Brothers studios but the musical is emotional and we’re excited!!
… Anyway, wonder if Rachel regrets getting off that plane.
