Singer-songwriter Whiskey Jack has just released his new single “One Track Mind” on March 15th. Whiskey Jack’s music is a blend of Australiana and Americana style. The singer debuted with the EP ‘Haystacks’ and has also performed at the Nannup Music Festival in 2023.
This track takes back its listeners to scenes of packed bags at bus stations, coastal drives and rolling waves, which captures the essence of ending a hard day with the setting sun.
Whiskey Jack – ‘One Track Mind’
The track has dusty acoustic guitars, breezy electric guitar refrains and waves of pedal steel, all gracefully mixed up with the voice of Whiskey Jack. Also, Jack Jill joined him on the track with producer Dylan Ollivierre on bass and electric guitar, Jy-Perry Banks on pedal steel and the gentle backing vocals from Carmen Ollivierre.
The singer draws inspiration from untamed landscapes and transforms everyday experiences into stirring lyrical metaphors, with storytelling and poetry being the heart of his music. Through this track, the singer attempts to expose his vulnerabilities and lift the burden of all internal struggles. This track serves as a blunt exploration of social anxiety and self-worth.
Whiskey Jack explains.”‘One Track Mind’ is a window into the psyche, navigating through social anxiety without a road map as it depicts the struggle of an over active inner critic and the fear of being misunderstood.”
