Dance giants, Major Lazer are returning to Australia for another headlining show, taking over the next instalment of Channel [V] Island Parties. On Thursday, 30 January, Major Lazer will play an exclusive DJ set on the V’s floating island and the only way to get there is to win tickets.
These dancehall mavericks, will be serving up a heavy artillery of tracks during their residency on Channel [V]’s island, including crowd favourites Watch Out For This (Bumaye), Get Free, Bubble Butt, Jet Blue Jet and Sweat as well as the banger Pon de Floor.
If attending an exclusive party on a floating island and partying against the Sydney Harbour backdrop sounds like a nice way to spend a Thursday, then you’d best get entering the competition. The major prize winner and their friend will score a trip to Sydney for the show with accommodation at the super trendy boutique hotel, QT Sydney. There’s also a bunch of double passes to give away for runners up.
Just two days ago Diplo took to Twitter to announce the new Major Lazer EP will be dropping next month, letting us know that the new record will include appearances from Sean Paul, Elephant Man, RDX, Machel Montano and Pharrell Williams. Major Lazer’s latest full-length release Free The Universe was released just last April.
There’s no specific date yet for the new record, but stay tuned to the Feeds for more info as it rolls in. Major Lazer will be hitting Australia for the Big Day Out 2014 tour very soon, with the festival favourite kicking off on the Gold Coast on Sunday, 19th January, before working its way around the nation.
