Congrats, Wollongong! You’ve just scored yourself a brand new live music venue to fill the RAD Bar-shaped hole left in your hearts. And it’s all thanks to the gang at Yours & Owls.
Dubbed La La La’s, and described as “part dive bar, part live music and arts space”, the fresh watering hole is located at 1 Globe Lane.
It boasts a 150 cap band room — which will be booked by the Yours & Owls team — with former UOW UniBar manager Nathan Stratton at the helm.
Speaking of the new digs, he says: “It’ll have a pinball, pool and relaxed pub feel. We’re also focused on making sure it’s got just a hint of them small bar vibes. We’re calling it a small pub and we’re pretty keen to build that kind of community around it!”
And you won’t have to wait to find out what’s on the agenda. La La La’s has come charging out of the gate with an absolutely stacked itinerary of live music, kicking off with its official launch party on Thursday 14th November, which will be headlined by local faves TOTTY.
The venue will then round out the year with a full program of events, including a RAD takeover (!!), The Pinheads takeover, Luen and her female DJ workshop, Pissfart Records takeover and Music Farmer’s 15th Birthday with Shining Bird and other special guests.
