Aussie troubadour Xavier Rudd‘s got a new band with his name on it called Xavier Rudd and the United Nations, and they’ve just announced a monumental 35-date tour to celebrate the release of Flag, the second single off their internationally-acclaimed debut album, Nanna.
Following straight on from their set at the sold out Splendour In The Grass festival this July, the nine-piece international all-star collective will spend August, September and October touring across the length and breadth of Australia, including performances at the Darwin Festival and Caloundra Music Festival.
“In a time when Australia is digging deep, marching together and standing strong for our threatened communities in the Northwest and simply the long awaited need for positive change for reconciliation in our country, I feel the spirit of this band is very important,” said frontman Xavier Rudd.
“This album, this tour, this family, The United Nations is an example energetically & spiritually of where we need to be as a nation. We will be touring regional places in Australia; some we’ve never been to, some we haven’t been for a long time, in order to deliver this message and celebrate the energy of one people with our fellow Australians. Its time to Boogie!”
Xavier Rudd and the United Nations will be supported by singer-songwriter Bobby Alu at all dates. Tickets go on sale from 9am, Thursday 21st May.
