YES: ‘Africa’ Legends Toto Want To Bless Australia With A Tour In 2019

Having just released a new album of greatest hits ahead of a massive world tour, ‘Africa’ legends Toto have revealed they’re “hoping” to return to Australia early next year.

Toto guitarist Steve Lukather dropped the hint while speaking with Music Feeds contributor Jade Kennedy, saying, “We’re getting ready to play a big world tour and we’re actually really hoping that we’re going to be able to get down to see you guys again in the beginning of 2019. That’s what we’re looking at right now.”

Which means this is us right now:

Toto haven’t toured in Australia for a decade now, although frontman Bobby Kimball toured here last year with Joe Lynn Turner of Deep Purple and Mark Gable of Choirboys.

Despite not heading down under recently, Toto have been working with our very own super-producer What So Not. They’ve popped up as surprise collaborators on his forthcoming album Not All The Beautiful Things, on a song called ‘Keep On Running’.

No dates have been confirmed for the band’s 2019 visit just yet, but they have plenty of dates locked in for Europe and the UK over the forthcoming months.

The band, who graced us with world-shaking hits like ‘Africa’ and ‘Rosanna’, have released new music recently for their greatest hits compilation 40 Trips Around The Sun. It’s likely a tour will mean plenty of classic tracks, plus some new one and maybe even a What So Not appearance?

Well, we can dream.

Stay tuned for Music Feeds‘ full interview with Steve Lukather, coming soon.
