Yes, Alexisonfire Are Reuniting

After yesterday teasing fans with hints of a possible reunion, Canadian post-hardcore legends Alexisonfire have today made it official, unveiling a run of international tour and festival dates, which do not include Australia as yet.

The band first announced their breakup in August of 2011, and haven’t performed together since their 2012 farewell tour. But in 2015, the classic lineup of George Pettit, Chris Steele, Wade MacNeil, Dallas Green and Jordan ‘Ratbeard’ Hastings will be saying ‘hello’ again via a series of worldwide summer festival slots, including a cameo at the monster 2015 Reading & Leeds Festival.

The fivesome will be hitting the iconic British event’s main stage on Metallica day, alongside the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Royal Blood, Pierce The Veil and Marmozets.

The band broke the news about their renewal of vows via their brand spankin’ new Instagram account overnight. Lead-guitarist Wade McNeil directed fans to Alexisonfire’s new Insta and wrote, “Never know what could happen…” alongside, “#AOF2015” and their trademark skull-in-a-heart logo.

That logo has appeared again in today’s follow-up post (below), alongside a list of upcoming dates and a web link – www.theonlybandever.com – which currently features a homepage that exactly mirrors the Instagram image.

As well as Reading & Leeds, Alexisonfire will be performing at Heavy Montreal, Sonic Boom, X-Fest, Riot Fest Toronto, as well as a US date “TBA”. Sadly, no Aussie dates have been announced at this point. But we’ll be keeping a close eye out.

Alexisonfire last visited Australia for their 2012 farewell tour.
