It’s coming down to the wire, with Soundwave kicking off at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds next week and now Adelaide’s map and set times have arrived, following revisions spurred by fans expressing dissatisfaction with a myriad of band clashes on the Brisbane and Sydney timetables.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks at the Soundwave offices, amid the rush to finalise set times the festival’s Perth event experienced a long-rumoured change of venue to Arena Joondalup, the cancellation of metal acts Megadeth and Whitechapel, and the addition of five new bands.
Maddah had previously confirmed that bands like Down, DevilDriver and Trivium would receive extended set times as a result of the dispute between thrash metal legends Megadeth and SW organisers, the band’s last-minute cancellation ensuring no replacement could be booked.

Among the changes are GWAR being moved to much earlier in the day, with Crosses shifting forward, swapping with Pulled Apart By Horses, Newsted and Amon Amarth exchanging places, the latter now opening Stage 4, with 15 minutes added to headliner Avenged Sevenfold‘s set.
