Arcade Fire Going Guerilla To Promote New Album ‘Reflektor’?

Recent stirrings suggest that indie titans and BDO 2013 headliners Arcade Fire have resorted to guerilla tactics to leave the word “reflektor” tagged in cities all over the world. Though it’s yet to be confirmed by the band or anyone from their camp, popular belief is that Reflektor will be the name of their new album, scheduled for release internationally Monday, 29th October.

Consequence Of Sound reports that graffiti sporting the word inside a mysterious symbol has been popping up around the globe, and at least two artists have admitted that they were hired by the band to create the tags.

That’s not where the story ends, either – an Instagram account titled Reflektor has popped up, documenting all the different pieces as well a video of one particular artist creating the piece, soundtracked by some fairly Arcade Fire-esque background music. This same clip is also featured on a newly launched website, TheReflektors.com.

This sneaky video has been doing the rounds on the net, and Arcade Fire fans have reported that it played moments before the band took to the stages of Lollapalooza and Osheaga festival this weekend.

Without official word, the new James Murphy produced album still remains nameless, though we now have a pretty good idea of where we should be looking for clues.
