Want To Audition For The Debut Aussie Run Of Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ Musical?

Casting is now open for the debut Australian production of Green Day‘s musical American Idiot, which will open at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in February 2017.

Developed by Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and Tony Award winner Michael Mayer, the American Idiot musical is a sung-through adaptation of the band’s incredible 2004 album.

Opening at the Berkeley Theatre in 2009, the musical has run solidly for eight years now, and now director Craig Ilott and QPAC are calling for “strong, authentic, courageous performers of all ethnic backgrounds with outstanding rock/pop/r&b vocals, dance and movementability and strong acting technique to participate in the Australian premiere of the hit Broadway musical”.

February 2017 will see the Playhouse at QPAC become a grungy mosh pit for the musical, which is exclusive to the Brisbane venue.

First round open auditions are on now open via video, and second round call-backs will be held in both Sydney and Brisbane. For a full list of characters and all other details, head to the musical’s official website, and catch show dates and ticket details, below.
