Avenged Sevenfold Tease Absolute Shred-Fest Of A New Song

Avenged Sevenfold have re-emerged to share a snippet of a brand new song they’ve been demoing for album number 7.

The Californian rifflords uploaded a short clip to YouTube to unveil the winning song from their March Madness competition, which saw thousands of fans vote for their all-time favourite A7X tune.

And after announcing 2007’s  A Little Piece Of Heaven (which was written by late drummer The Rev) as the winning track, the band went on to reveal that they’ve been hard at work demoing their forthcoming seventh LP, and had a quick snippet of the disc’s planned opening track to show fans.

Watching the clip, the whole thing seems like an April Fools gag at first, with the band blasting some form of weird-ass jazz/fusion type song (don’t tell us they’re switching fucking genres?!?!)

But never fear, if you stick with them til the end, you’ll get rewarded with an almost minute-long instrumental shred-fest featuring Synyster Gates going absolute batshit on the axe, firing off string sweeps at a machine-gun pace ala Dragonforce or old school Trivium.

Batshit.

It’s also our first taste of what new drumming recruit, the ever so appropriately named Brooks Wackerman, can do behind the kit.

Check out what is – hopefully – our first taste of Avenged’s new album, below.
