Bluestfest 2014 Sideshows: Elvis Costello, The Doobie Brothers

If you can’t make it to the extraordinarily excellent Bluesfest next year in person, organisers have good news for you today in the form of two more sideshows, with ’70s favourites The Doobie Brothers and legendary singer-songwriter Elvis Costello both dropping their own Australian headlining tour dates for 2014.

With acts like Dave Matthews Band, Erykah Badu and John Mayer, next year is set to be the biggest Bluesfest yet. Music Feeds readers can stay up to date with all of the latest Bluesfest 2014 news at our special Feed right here, and all of the action surrounding Bluesfest sideshows right here.

Elvis Costello and The Imposters

You could almost say Elvis Costello is one of Australia’s favourite adopted sons, with the acclaimed singer-songwriter having toured here almost a dozen time in the last 35 years. This time he’ll be bringing his band The Imposters and playing two very special headlining shows in Adelaide and Sydney.

The singer-songwriter is hard to pigeonhole, having released more than 40 albums covering countless genres and racking up a string of accolades like Grammy Awards, an Oscar nomination and induction into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

UPDATE 30/01/14: Elvis Costello has added a Melbourne show at Hamer Hall on Thursday 17th April following a public outcry that a headline performance for the city was left off the his upcoming Australian tour schedule. The Melbourne date will replace the recently cancelled Adelaide performance.

Tickets go on sale from 9:00AM AEST on Thursday, 28th November.
