Bon Iver Tease Melbourne Event In Mysterious Instagram Post

UPDATE 29/09/15 1:15pm AEST: Clues have emerged about what tonight’s Bon Iver event in Melbourne will involved, but the venue owner says he has no idea what’s happening.

ORIGINAL STORY: Bon Iver are up to something in Melbourne tomorrow night.

The Justin Vernon-led indie folksters have uploaded a cryptic Instagram post suggesting something Bon Iver-related will be happening at 121 Johnston St, Fitzroy AKA Sir Charles’ restaurant & espresso bar from 6.30 PM tomorrow:

And unless the group are plotting some kind of guerrilla gig, our best guess is that they’re chucking a Radiohead (except actually including Australia this time) and throwing an exclusive album streaming party of their new disc 22, A Million, before it drops on Friday.

Firstly, the post contains the album’s artwork, and secondly, it’s not the only mysterious event that Bon Iver have insta-teased.

A similar post spruiks an event of the same nature going down in Eu Claire Wisconson (USA) at 6.30pm the day before. And although there’s been no confirmation about the exact nature of that event either, WEAU 13 News has confirmed that the city of Eau Claire will be blasting Bon Iver’s new album on rotation through outdoor speakers in its downtown precinct “every two hours on Friday and Saturday, starting at 9am Friday” (the day it gets officially release).

Music Feeds has contacted Melbourne venue Sir Charles for further comment.

We’ll keep you in the loop with any further info as it develops. In the meantime, read our review of 22, A Million here.
