Michigan sons Chiodos are returning to our shores for their first visit in five years, touring Australia in January and February 2015 in support of their fourth studio effort, Devil, which dropped in April this year.
Devil marks the return of founding members Craig Owens and drummer Derrick Frost and the first record to feature new recruit, guitarist and backing vocalist Thomas Erak. The post-hardcore outfit will kick off their Australian tour at Brisbane’s Hi-Fi on Thursday, 29th January, before moving on to Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania, Adelaide and Perth.
Devil is set to be the band’s immediate and propulsive effort yet.“Devil isn’t something I thought long and hard about. It is something that hit me, and hard,” explains Owens. “This is about the temptations of everyday life; the things that become regrets; the moments where you are forced to make a choice that will determine how it is that you look at yourself for the rest of your life. This album is my definition of Devil.”
UPDATE 28/11/14: Melbourne’s own Storm The Sky have been announced as Chiodos’ Australian tour supports.
Devil is out now via Faction / Sony.
