Chvrches‘ second album is officially just a few short months away.
The Scottish electro kids’ highly-anticipated sophomore, dubbed Every Open Eye, will arrive on Friday, September 25th. The disc has also been heralded by a brand new single, called Leave A Trace, which singer Lauren Mayberry has described as “a middle finger mic drop about not being told what to do”.
It’s been a pretty quick turnaround for the Splendour In The Grass and Laneway alumni, who only confirmed that they’d entered the studio back in January.
Every Open Eye is the follow up to the band’s breakthrough debut album The Bones of What You Believe and, unlike the “new material” that the trio trolled their manager with earlier this year, reportedly sees the band “creating their own brand of twisted pop music that uniquely merges the organic with the electronic, moulding sounds and ideas forged over two years on the road into an electronic-pop record with a heart”.
