Coachella 2012: Lineup Announcement

The festival of all festivals has announced its 2012 lineup. After months of speculation and deliberation from No Doubt headlining to a Daft Punk set, it has finally been released, and there are definitely some surprises.

Headliners The Black Keys, Radiohead and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg lead what could be considered the best lineup of any festival of 2012, seeing as Glastonbury is taking a year off. However Snoop Dogg’s appearance may be hindered by his recent arrest. Sub-headliners Swedish House Mafia, Bon Iver, At The Drive In, and Pulp reinforce the lineup. However there are a few surprises. If you squint your eyes hard enough, you may just be able to see in the fine print bands like Kasabian and Kaiser Chiefs. Bands who have headlined or are headlining festivals in Australia within the past year. Staying true to their name, Coachella have piled in possibly every genre known to man. Representing the Indie kids are SBTRKT, The Big Pink, We Are Augustines and Australian favourite Gotye while the bands like Refused are keeping the metal heads happy. As always; Electro-House is dominate with acts such as Alesso, Sebastian Ingrosso and Avicii manning the DJ decks all night long

Coachella will be held over two weekends this year instead of the normal one weekend, spanning from Friday 13th April until 22nd April, with the festival closing over the week in-between.
