Cut Copy Debut New Song ‘Explorers’ Live At Governors Ball

Aussie electro pop titans Cut Copy can now be added to the list of bands to road test their latest offerings at Governors Ball, delighting fans with previously unheard track Explorers.

The fan-filmed footage of the world premiere performance sees vocalist and keyboardist Dan Whitford as the main feature but with the tribal drums and crazy light show it certainly isn’t underwhelming.

Cut Copy fans may be surprised to hear new material from the band in such a relatively short space of time, given that their latest album Zonoscope dropped just two years ago, while previous album In Ghost Colours was released three years before that and debut Bright Like Neon Love came four years before that. Perhaps a follow-up to the critically acclaimed Zonoscope is coming sooner than we all anticipated.

If you’re an artist with new material, it seems that the place to try it out live would have to be Governors Ball. Earlier in the week, we learned that Kanye West also chose the three-day New York festival to debut some new tracks off his forthcoming album Yeezus, and he also unleashed one of his trademark rants in the process.

You can check out the upbeat, charming electronically charged ‘Explorers’ from Cut Copy below.
