Daft Punk Playing Coachella 2013?! Here We Go Again…

Thanks to TWO new pieces of evidence, Daft Punk has once again been tipped to play a secret show at Coachella.

Firstly, the duo’s Vevo profile listing a solitary tour date of Friday, 12th April at Empire Polo Field Indio, California – the site of Coachella. Is this some ungodly troll, a red herring or a genuine announcement? We don’t know yet.

Adding further fuel to the fire is a new YouTube channel started under the name of Daft Punk. Although it is unconfirmed whether the channel is official, a video titled as All Night To Get Lucky contains a pop up with the coordinates 33°43′14″N 116°12′56″W, which are close enough to the city of Indio’s coordinates of 33°43′12″N 116°13′55″W, according to Google. This video was uploaded 4 days ago, while the Vevo profile news broke just this morning.

It’s also worth mentioning that if there’s any legitimacy to this new Daft Punk YouTube channel then we may also have the first track title, from the duo’s upcoming album Random Acess Memories.

What we now for sure is that Daft Punk’s new album is currently available for pre-order and will be released in Australia 17th, May.

UPDATE: 28/03/13

Daft Punk has denied they will be performing at Coachella 2013, with Rolling Stone reporting that a rep for the French duo has told the magazine that, without question, “Daft Punk is not performing at Coachella this year.”

Rumours of Daft Punk playing this year’s Coachella re-emerged when a tour date of Friday, 12th April at Empire Polo Field Indio, the location of Coachella, appeared on the duo’s Vevo profile. The date has since been removed.
