Is Dave Grohl Working On The New Queens Of The Stone Age Album?

Yesterday Jesse Hughes from Eagles Of Death Metal uploaded a very cheeky photo of himself with Dave Grohl and Josh Homme in what appears to be a studio setting.

So cheeky in fact that Hughes has since deleted the post, but sure enough some eager trigger fingers ensured the image was screenshotted, and the cute pic of the guys has since been shared across the interwebs. All of this begs a very simple question; what exactly are they up to?

Although there’s obviously no way of confirming anything for sure, it could very well point to Grohl working on the new Queens Of The Stone Age album. Last month Troy Sanders from Mastodon confirmed that Queens Of The Stone Age would definitely be releasing a new record at some point in 2017.

If that is the case, it wouldn’t be the first time that Grohl had worked on music for QOTSA. The Foo Fighter’s frontman has previously worked on their 2002 album Songs For The Deaf, before going on to tour with the band in support of that record. Homme and Grohl are also both members of Them Crooked Vultures along with John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin.

So there’s plenty of circumstantial evidence pointing to the Grohl contributing to the new QOTSA album, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Whatever the case, the fact that the pic was swiftly deleted is a sure sign that we weren’t supposed to know about whatever is really going down.
