After leaving us hanging for days, teasing the prospect of some sort of collaboration, super-producers Flume and Disclosure have again combined forces via a Disclosure remix of Flume’s chart-topping hit Never Be Like You feat. Kai.
The result is a club-ready, deep house version of Flume’s crossover hit, and marks Guy and Howard Lawrence’s first remix of another artist in over two years. It’s also a bit of a return serve, Flume having remixed Disclosure’s You & Me in 2013.
“So happy we can finally return the favour of remixing duties to our buddy Flume,” say Disclosure. “His remix of our song blew our minds when he delivered it. We hope you all enjoy our version of his amazing new single!”
No word yet on whether the boys will turn this remix into an onstage collaborate, however there’s an opportunity coming up in June when Flume will appear on the line-up for Wild Life, a UK festival curated by Disclosure and Rudimental.
Never Be Like You feat. Kai. will feature on Flume’s much-anticipated forthcoming second album, Skin, which Flume has described as “just a bit different” from his previous work. “The beats flip up, it’s kind of complicated and it’s not festival music, it’s more headphone [music],” he added.
It is expected to drop soon.
