American progressive rock stalwarts Dream Theater have announced a 2-date Australian tour, which will see the band play in both Sydney and Melbourne this October as part of the intimate “An Evening With Dream Theater” Tour.
Dream Theater last visited Australia in 2009, and have since released two more studio albums, 2011’s A Dramatic Turn Of Events and 2013’s self-titled album, which marked the first full-length release featuring the group’s new drummer Mike Mangini.
Dream Theater’s keyboard-wielding wizard Jordan Rudess told Music Feeds Podcast in September 2013 that he believed the band would eventually tour Australia once again, following the release of the their self-titled twelfth album. Luckily for fans, Rudess’ prediction has now come to fruition.
Dream Theater’s impressive technical proficiency and passion for progressive metal will be on full display during the “An Evening With Dream Theater” performances. The tour begins on Wednesday, 29th October in Melbourne, before heading to Sydney the very next day. Full tour and ticket details are available below.
