Erykah Badu Announces Headlining Australian Tour Dates

American soul queen Erykah Badu has today dropped news that’s sure to delight her Aussie fans, with the songstress announcing she’ll be playing headlining shows in both Sydney and Melbourne when she makes her way Down Under in April 2014 for Bluesfest.

The 42-year-old singer-songwriter has been kickin’ it neo soul styles for more than 15 years now, from her highly-acclaimed 1997 debut Baduism right through to her most recent effort, 2010’s New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh. She also made waves at this year’s BET Awards when she joined Kendrick Lamar onstage, collaborating on his track Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.

Both shows will see support from Melburnian “future-soul” outfit Hiatus Kaiyote. Tickets are on sale from 12:00pm AEST on Monday, 11th November, with a special pre-sale through Niche and My Live Nation from 12:00pm AEST on Friday, 8th November until 5:00pm AEST on Sunday, 10th November.
