A lot of people (myself included) got excited when a recent inside source revealed that Fall Out Boy were plotting a comeback, but as quickly as the rumour spread, the band stepped in, denouncing the story as unfounded and untrue.
In response to claims by The Insider reporter Keltie Colleen, guitarist Joe Trohman has stated very firmly that there is nothing currently in the works. Colleen announced over Twitter that she had received word that Fall Out Boy had begun working on new material. Trohman responded, “I never have, and never will, give credence to rumors abound. That’s all I have to say.”
He added, “If you don’t know what that turn of phrase means: the rumors are unfounded and untrue. If something actually is going on, we’ll tell you!”
This hasn’t stopped Colleen from sticking to her guns. The reporter maintains that the reunion is still a possibility. Many fans seem to view the opinion that it’s not off unless Pete says it’s off.
The rumors are still untrue, unreal & totally outta this world! *shreds gnar, does surf's up hand signal*. Seriously, it's not going down.
