Goldfrapp “Can’t Perform” In Australia After Harvest 2013 Cancelled

Despite AJ Maddah remaining hopeful of a Goldfrapp Australian tour in the wake of Harvest 2013‘s cancellation, the outfit has announced it will not be coming Down Under in the immediate future but positive that another opportunity will present itself.

The UK two piece broke the news via Twitter, saying, “So yes it’s now official, the Harvest Festival in Australia has been cancelled. Such a shame! It means we can’t come to perform there.”

While this may be disappointing to fans, Alison Goldfrapp and counterpart Will Gregory don’t seem to have lost too much heart in terms of touring Australia, stating in a follow up tweet that, “We hope there will be another opportunity soon.”

Maddah yesterday revealed that fellow would-be Harvesters Massive Attack have also been counted out from an Australian tour in the immediate future, though he has expressed confidence that several of the main acts will be announcing tours within the next week or so.

Goldfrapp were last in town for Splendour In The Grass 2010, so their return was long overdue as it was. Earlier this month they released their latest full-length album Tales Of Us, so unfortunately we will now have to take a number, and wait our turn to catch the record live.
