The Guitarist For Meshuggah Has Heard The New Tool Album

Marten Hagstrom, the guitarist for Swedish metal outfit Meshuggah – has revealed that he’s heard new music from Tool.

Tool, who’ve been teasing their next album for the best part of a decade, are pretty damn sick of people asking when they’re going to be releasing their new music – but Hagstrom told Rock Sverige what he’s heard is “the best I’ve heard from Tool.”

“I don’t know what’s up with their record, but that’s typical Tool… they’re the best band and they are the only band that is slower than we are,” said Hagstrom.

“Last year me and Tomas [Haake] visited Danny Carey in his house, he became a father not too long ago, and he played the demo material from the upcoming album,” he continued.

He also joked that he’ll be pushing them to release it sooner rather than later. “But now it does not seem so long. We will talk to them in a few weeks when we play with them and Slayer in Sacramento, so then I can pump them a little.”
