Hear Coldplay’s New Break-Up Song ‘Everglow’ Featuring Chris Martin’s Ex, Gwyneth Paltrow

Coldplay have premiered yet another new song off their forthcoming  seventh LP, A Head Full Of Dreams.

The band’s new disc is shaping up to be a goldmine of superstar cameos, with guest vocals from the likes of Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher and even  US President Barack Obama.

But – in a scenario that’s in no way awkward and shame on you for thinking it is – their latest cut features guest vox from frontman Chris Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow.

Also not awks, Martin has revealed to Beats One Radio that the song was inspired by the “sadness” of a relationship break-up.

“I was in the ocean one day with this surfer guy, who spoke just like you’d imagine a surfer guy to speak … He was like, ‘Yo dude, I was doing this thing the other day man, it gave me this total everglow!’ I was like, ‘What an amazing word!’ Then the song came completely out,” he explained.

“To me, it’s about – whether it’s a loved one or a situation or a friend or a relationship that’s finished, or someone’s passed away – I was thinking about, after you’ve been through the sadness of something, you also get this everglow. That’s what it’s about.”

The track also features the ‘consciously uncoupled’ couple’s childrens’ and friends’ voices as part of a choir.

And another thing that’s not even awkies, Martin’s new gf, ,actress Annabelle Wallis, also features on another track on the band’s album.

Meanwhile, Coldplay has also just released their new music video for the previously-release track Adventure Of A Lifetime, which sees the band portrayed by a group of CGI apes.

A Head Full Of Dreams is set to be released on 4th December.
