English singer-songwriter and Mercury Prize nominee Jamie T has announced he will be returning to our shores this coming January 2015 for his first Australian tour in almost six years.
Kicking off the whirlwind tour on Wednesday, 21st January at Sydney’s Metro Theatre, the musician will also head to venues in Brisbane, Melbourne and will round things off on Monday, 26th January at Perth’s Astor Theatre.
The Australian tour announcement coincides with the recent release of Jamie T’s third and much anticipated new album, Carry On The Grudge, his first album in five years which follows-up 2009’s Kings & Queens.
The record features the first single Don’t You Find, along with the infectious voodoo rock ‘n’ roll inspired track Zombie – the video for which you can watch below. Speaking to NME, Jamie T revealed that he wrote over 180 songs for the new album, admitting that he was “always pumping tracks out” during the five years between records.
