The last six years haven’t been all that bright for Yacht Club DJs. Between sold out US tours with Mumford & Sons and the release of five well-received mixtapes, the band have only been playing thousands of live shows at home and abroad, and amassing thousands of plays and views online.
Okay, so maybe it’s been pretty good. But it’s about to get a whole lot better, with the Ballarat duo announcing that they have unveiled their first ever original offering. Dubbed Undertow, this Madchester-like sax romp is the first taste of the band’s forthcoming debut EP, to be titled No 1.
“We’ve always wanted to release original material, but I think for both of us, it’s never been something we wanted to force,” explained Gaz Harrison. Readers can check out Undertow below. The No 1 EP will be available from Friday, 11th April via Create / Control. See tour dates here.
