London Grammar Splendour In The Grass Sideshows

Written by Greg Moskovitch on May 5, 2014

Following last week’s confirmations of Sky Ferreira and Wild Beasts for a series of Splendour In The Grass sideshows, the headline train has kept momentum with the announcement that UK trio London Grammar, long speculated for SITG, will charm fans with their own side-performances.

While the band are relative newbies to live performances and only released their debut full-length, If You Wait, last September, London Grammar have become not only one of the most talked-about young groups in recent memory, but one of the most highly anticipated Splendour In The Grass acts.

The band were also one of the handful of Splendour acts that made our ‘20 Bands We’re Looking Forward To Seeing At Splendour In The Grass‘ list, putting them among such illustrious names as festival headliners Outkast, late addition Childish Gambino, soul veteran Kelis, and Phantogram.

We’d had them pegged for SITG for a while, after guitarist Dan Rothman revealed in an interview that the band was initially bound for Splendour 2013 but couldn’t make it in time, before revealing that he was concerned about getting in trouble with “some festival that rhymes with Brass.”

UPDATE 22/07/14 12:20pm: London Grammar have cancelled their upcoming Australian tour and Splendour In The Grass appearance due to illness. Their slot on the Splendour lineup has been filled by Sydney’s The Presets and their headlining sideshows have been rescheduled. See new tour dates below.
