The Presets Replacing London Grammar At Splendour In The Grass

Organisers of Splendour In The Grass 2014 have announced Sydney’s The Presets will replace electronic pop group London Grammar on this years lineup after the UK trio become the third act in one week to pull out of the festival.

The Presets will fill London Grammar’s spot on the Amphitheatre stage this Friday night and will back up their headlining spot on the Splendour Mix Up stage on the final night of the festival in 2013.

Their new single No Fun is triple j’s most played track of the past two weeks and has already been remixed by fellow Splendour 2014 acts RÜFÜS and Lancelot. If the track’s mind bending world first six-sided video is anything to go by, The Preset’s are prepared for a memorable Splendour set.

For those who purchased a single day ticket particularly to see London Grammar, refunds for Friday 25th July single day tickets only will be available from Moshtix until 5pm Wednesday, 23rd July. The ticket resale facility to purchase tickets for Splendour in the Grass has also been extended now until midnight Wednesday, 23rd July.

Late Monday night London Grammar relayed the news of their cancellation via their Facebook page. “It’s with great sadness that we must announce the cancellation of our trip to Australia & Splendour in the Grass this week due to illness,” the statement reads.

“This is an incredibly sad situation for us as our last visit was one of the most memorable of our careers, but we do not feel that we can currently deliver the level of performance that you all deserve from us.”

The group were scheduled to play at 7pm on the main Amphitheatre Stage this Friday. They also had two sideshows planned for this week, one tonight at Festival Hall in Melbourne and another on Thursday at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney. The band have since postponed their Splendour in The Grass sideshows until March 2015.

Last week one of Splendour’s headline acts Two Door Cinema Club pulled out of the festival after frontman Alex Trimble fell ill, and UK indie rockers Foals were swiftly added to the bill. Just two days earlier Nashville band The Wild Feathers also postponed their Australian tour and were replaced by New South Wales outfit MT Warning.

Splendour in the Grass runs from Friday, 25th July to Sunday, 27th July in Byron Bay.
