Luke Steele And Daniel Johns Collaborating On New Material

It’s no secret that Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns and Empire Of The Sun’s main man Luke Steele are bros, but we’ve now learnt that the two are working their relationship towards the ultimate bromance – releasing an album together. In a recent interview with Pedestrian, Steele has spilled the beans, painting a picture of a fairly…eclectic…album.

The release, which is inspired by the 25th anniversary of their friendship, is currently in progress with the two apparently successfully jamming together. Steele name-checks artists such as Talking Heads and The Clash but explains their music is “inspired by African music”.

Steele must have struck creative gold upon completing the latest Empire Of The Sun record, Ice On The Dune. The fact that he’s leaving very little down time between touring and writing obviously means they’re keen as beans to get this out, so more updates are sure to come soon.

This also means Johns is also in the mood to make sweet, sweet music, lending credibility to claims that his vocals are the ones featured in the new 360 track.
