Matt Corby Reveals First Single ‘Resolution’ From Debut Album

Holed up in an LA apartment, Aussie singer/songwriter Matt Corby has put his time to good use, penning his long awaited full-length album, the first sample of which can now be heard below. Corby spoke to the triple j team about his new single Resolution and the mindset that shaped it.

Recalling the tale of the track to Tom & Alex, Corby explains, “The song was written in this little dingy LA apartment I’ve been living in for the last few months…That’s where I’ve made some of this album.” Resolution stems from the love/hate relationship he has formed with LA during his time there. Speaking of the lousy conditions that inspired his creative burst Corby went on to state:

“I got a little paranoid and I didn’t really leave the house for a couple of days. I couldn’t understand why I was so afraid of the world at this time so I wrote ‘Resolution’. It’s an ode to humanity and the way I want to be with other people and spread some love in an un-cheesy way.”

Four EP’s into the game, Corby has a fairly enormous following, all of whom will be stoked to hear that he’ll be touring in the near future in support of the album. Stay tuned for deets on that.
