With the finish line in sight, Melbourne Festival top secret line up has begun to unravel with one participant confirming his involvement via his own personal website. Active Child has spilled the beans, revealing that he will be making his way Down Under for the multi-day event, which kicks off in October.
As per the website, we now know that Active Child, government name Pat Grossi will be performing on Friday, 25th October. The performer has a well-documented love affair with his Australian fans which peaked in early 2012 when he was here as part of Laneway Festival. Of course, since then he has announced his new EP R A P O R, expected to drop just before Melbourne Festival kicks off.
Speaking to the Herald Sun recently, festival curator Declan Forde gave some insight into what we can expect from the line up “Hoboken, a crocodile, a former Parkie, a prolific kid, a father-to-be, two crafty cussers, a misspelled dog and some ‘Castaways.” We’re gonna put money on Active Child being this prolific kid, though as for the rest of them we’ll have to wait.
Melbourne Festival has a reputation for booking big talent, with last year’s roster boasting Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, Billy Bragg and many more. This year’s event is set down for 11th-27th October.
