Miami Horror Confirm New Music & Tour Plans Following Departure Of Aaron Shanahan

Miami Horror have announced that their guitarist and vocalist Aaron Shanahan has left the group to focus on his solo project, Sunday, but say they’re forging ahead with big plans in 2017.

Shanahan has been with the band since it began seven years ago, but he’s departed to work on Sunday, the moniker he’s been releasing music under for about six months.

“Looking ahead to an exciting year filled with a brand-new conceptual Miami Horror release and an Australian tour soon to be announced, Miami Horror are sending their best wishes, and a warm goodbye as their friend and partner, Aaron, departs Miami Horror and moves on to new and exciting things,” the band write in a statement to Music Feeds.

“We’ve had some wonderful times together over the years and shared many experiences that we’ll never forget. You can follow his new endeavors as Sunday. Thanks for all the good times brother. You’re a beautiful, hardworking, and dedicated man. We’re wishing you all the best!”

While it’s sad that Shanahan is departing, it’s exciting that the band are prepping new material, which will mark their first release since 2015’s All Possible Futures.

That record has taken them all around the world playing massive festivals like Coachella.

Sunday, on the other hand, has just released his latest single Only, with a video shot in New York. “Filmed in NY to create the juxtaposition between stress and sanctuary,” Sunday says about the video.
