MUM @ World Bar, Friday 2nd July

Written by John Ritchie on July 1, 2010

Another eight bands and a ton of indie DJs convene at MUM this Friday to put on a ridiculous night of live music and stellar party tunes for the dancefloor.

Local rockers Chicks Who Love Guns make their first appearance at MUM and will surely throw down their single ‘Vomit on the Dancefloor’. Then later on, after the guys have thrashed out their gig they will be hosting an after party upstairs in the Bordello and will be DJing till late.

Death Valley Band are another one of the many great Melbourne based bands that have blown into MUM and they will be supporting Chicks Who Love Guns so too will Brackets and our new late set residents for July Indigo Rising.

Upstairs in The Bordello there is a recipe for baked indie goodness. Combine Vacations, Border Thieves, The Love Parade and Post Paint in a small room for four hours, turn up the heat and then find yourself consuming indie treats with hints of surf rock, lashings of psychedelia and aromas reminiscent of folk.

And of course there will be more DJs than you can point a wooden spoon at with Walkie Talkie, Animal Chin, Skully Boo, Nic Yorke, Jack Shit and Wet Lungs keeping things indie and 16 Tacos and DC-10 getting you to grind it out on level one in La Discoteca.

MUM – Every Friday at The World Bar, Kings Cross.
