UPDATE: Warped Australia 2013 lineup here now! Check it out!
Vans Warped Tour Australia promoter AJ Maddah has revealed that Perth will get sideshows from bands appearing on the 2013 line up for the festival, despite previously stating there would be no sideshows at all.
This will come as welcome news to Western Australians missing the Warped love, as the festival proper will not be making the trip across the Nullabor, kicking off in Brisbane at the RNA Showgrounds on 29th November and terminating in Adelaide on 8th December.
Earlier this week, Maddah partly blamed the WA state government for holding Perth back as a viable destination for live alternative music, especially festivals.
“State laws have made it just about impossible to do all-ages shows,” he said. “A whole couple of generations of kids have missed out on going to shows when they’re young [and] therefore have grown up being into shit music, quite frankly.”
“Perth is great for P!nk and what have you, but it’s not so good for punk rock,” he added. Looks like he’s trying his luck yet again.
Just last night, Simple Plan self-confirmed their Warped Australia appearance by teasing a large announcement set to be revealed tomorrow night, pointing fans towards triple j after 10pm – the same details for the Warped Tour line up announcement.
Unfortunately for Simple Plan fans, although Maddah himself has now confirmed the band will be at Warped Tour, he’s also categorically stated that Simple Plan will not be performing sideshows. So we don’t know specifically which bands will be playing sideshows, but we do know that the only band confirmed for the line up will not be going to WA.
The Vans Warped Tour Australia 2013 line up is set to be announced this evening after 10pm, and tickets are expected to go on sale next Thursday, 18th July for the moderate price of $99 + bf.
In the meantime, check out the brand-new names on our fully revised rumours and leaks list, and brush up on your Warped Tour history to find out exactly what’s in store come November.

Hands Of Mercy
The Offspring: punk rock, skate punk. OK, so they were just here for Soundwave, but get ready to do it all over again. The Offspring been kicking around since 1984 and they’re set to record another album in 2014, their first since leaving Columbia Records - prep for a revitalised band and new tunes!
Parkway Drive: metalcore, heavy metal. The Byron crew done good OS will play Warped Tour UK in November before heading home for the Down Under version.
Simple Plan: pop punk, pop rock. The French-Canadian legends should need no introduction. They’ve played at the US Warped Tour every year from 1999–2005, as well as in 2011. They're working on a new album too, so expect plenty of fresh tunes.
The Used: post hardcore, screamo. The Utah rockers are currently on Warped US, and are coming to Australia with brand-new EP, 'The Ocean Of The Sky', in hand.
New Found Glory: pop punk, punk rock. The 5-piece played last year’s Warped Tour UK as well as the last Warped Australia. Their first live album is slated for an October release.
Hatebreed: metalcore. The Connecticut quintet are bringing the heavy to Australian Warped Tour line-up, having last played the US version 15 years ago.
Tonight Alive: pop punk. One of our most successful musical exports of late, Tonight Alive drop their sophomore LP 'The Other Side' on 6th September.
H2O: Skate punk, hardcore punk. When the NYC fellas came here for Soundwave, we described them as “tough, straight-edge and ready to kick your ass”. Right on.
The Summer Set: pop punk. Currently on the US Warped Tour, the Arizona outfit released their latest album 'Legendary' back in April.
Kids In Glass Houses: alt rock, indie. The Welsh quintet will be here to promote studio album number four, 'Peace', which is due out 30th September – just enough time for you to learn all the words.
We Came As Romans: melodic metalcore, symphonic metal. The metal masterminds from Michigan will be back Down Under for the first time since supporting The Devil Wears Prada in 2011.
Man Overboard: Pop punk. Currently playing the US Warped Tour, Man Overboard are joining the Aussie Warped line-up to do what they do best – defend the honour of pop punk.
Crown The Empire: metalcore, post hardcore. Currently on the US Warped Tour, the Texan 6-piece released their debut full-length 'The Fallout' at the end of 2012.
The Dangerous Summer: pop punk, alt rock. The Maryland rockers played the US Warped Tour in 2011. They were forced to cancel an Aussie tour with Tonight Alive in 2012, so we’re mighty happy they’re heading back our way.
For All Those Sleeping: post hardcore. The Minnesotan outfit are heading our way to promote their last release 'Outspoken'.
Veara: pop punk. Veara, who named themselves after an unpleasant record store owner as a joke, played the US Warped Tour in 2011 and have a new record on the way called 'Growing Up Is Killing Me'.
Anarbor: alt rock, power pop. The outfit are US Warped Tour favourites, having played 2009, 2010 and 2013. Anarbor have long been rumoured for various Aussie festivals and are now officially headed our way this November.
Mallory Knox: post hardcore. The Cambridge 5-piece clan released their highly acclaimed debut album 'Signals' this year.
RDGLDGREEN: indie go-go. These blokes only formed in 2011 but have already worked with the likes of Dave Grohl and Pharell Williams, played this year’s SXSW festival and are currently playing the US Warped Tour off the back of their 'Red Gold Green' EP.
