Ryan Adams Announces Exclusive Solo Sydney Opera House Show

Ryan Adams‘ Aussie touring itinerary has just expanded, with an exclusive solo performance to take place at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday, 21st July.

The freshly-announced Australian exclusive, which compliments the rustic American troubadour’s headlining Splendour In The Grass sideshow dates with Jenny Lewis, will see Adams perform a career-spanning set inside the venue’s iconic concert hall as part of its Music at the House program.

Ben Marshall, Head of Contemporary Music at Sydney Opera House, calls Adams’ participation in the concert series a “genuine honour”.

“Musically expansive and with an exceptionally devoted following, he has the rare ability to combine absurdist humour with absolute sincerity,” he says. “Ryan’s deeply personal live musical expression is always essential and will sound absolutely incredible in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.”

Over his 15 year career, Ryan Adams has released a total of 14 albums including solo records and LPs with The Cardinals. 2015 sees him return to Australia for Splendour In The Grass backed by his new band, The Shining.

While in the country this July he will also play Splendour sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney joined by singer-songwriter and ex-Rilo Kiley frontwoman Jenny Lewis. The Opera House gig will form his one and only solo show.

Tickets go on sale to the general public from 9am, Friday 15th May.
